PURPOSE:To detect surely the residual quantity of a developer, by moving once a movable member in one developing cycle to clean the detection face of a residual quantity detecting means and holding a display state when the movable member is moved. CONSTITUTION:An oscillatory developer residual quantity detecting device 6e is attached to a developer vessel 6d and is operated when a magnetic toner in the vessel 6d becomes a prescribed quantity or less. A rotating bar 6g is arranged near the detection face of the detecting device 6e, and a projecting part 6g1 of this rotating bar is protruded to the side into a bent shank, and a magnet 6g2 is fixed to the projecting part 6g1. This magnet 6g2 faces to the detection face, and the rotating bar 6g is rotated once by a driving part at the timing of development completion. By this rotation, the magnet 6g2 passes just before the detection face and sweeps forcibly the magnetic toner off the detection face to prevent the malfunction of the residual quantity detecting device 6e. |
