A cutting tool comprises a bit-holder fed at a prescribed feed amount f per rotation of the workpiece, and a throw-away tip which is formed of superhard metal, which has an outer peripheral surface of prescribed shape, an inner peripheral surface provided concentrically with the outer peripheral surface, similar to the prescribed shape of the outer peripheral surface and defining a hollow part and a predetermined thickness t and which is detachably mounted to the bit-holder.
