The dishwasher consists of a housing (10) and a washing chamber (11). In a sectional plan view, the combined basket structure and door (17) are arranged to pivot about a vertical axis (26) located in the chamber (11), the door being carried by upper and lower pivot arms (25). In pivoting, the lateral edges of the door, and the maximum laterally projecting parts of the basket structure, keep within a circle of a particular radius (R) to keep clear of all parts of the stationary housing. The upper and lower edges of the door and door opening (18) diverge to permit it to swing clear in the opening direction. The door and basket assembly may be pivoted around to any angle to give maximum accessibility to all parts of the basket including both sides and the rear. The door may be rotated by 230 degrees from its closed position. |
