Stratified thermal insulation block for wall - has different concrete densities suiting function of layer location on core

The composite block has three layers of different density light colloidal concrete. The core layer (3) of least density has the greatest thickness and is faced on one side by an external dressing (4) of less thickness but greater density and an internal dressing (2), also of less thickness and greater density than the core. The two outside layers provide, between them, all the load bearing capacity required of the block without taking into account any supplementary load bearing properties of the core. The top block is protected by a capping block.
