<p>A transistor (Q1) connected as a diode is joined through a resistor (R1) to one terminal (A) of the regulator. This provides a reference voltage for a second transistors (Q2) whose collector is connected to a third transistor (Q3) acting as a diode. A fourth transistor (Q4) with its base and emitter connected to those of the first transistors has its collector connected to the collector of a fifth transistor (Q5). This has its base and emitter connected to those of the third transistor. The junction between these transistors (Q4,Q5) connects to an amplifier (Am) imput whose output increases or decreases according to the amplitude and sign of the difference in currents (I4,I5) in the fourth and fifth transistors. The amplifier modifies the current consumed by the regulater so that the current difference at the input tends to zero. Resistors and their ratios are chosen to obtain the regulator voltage and the required temp. coefficient.</p> |
