PURPOSE:To release a residual quantity detection signal immediately after supplying a developer to form a picture immediately, by providing a detecting means for the residual quantity of the developer, a developer supplying means, and a means which detects the supplying operation due to the developer supplying means on the basis of the residual quantity detection. CONSTITUTION:An agitating means 6 where bar-shaped members 6b are blocked on a rotation shaft 6a is provided in a vessel 1 for the purpose of preventing the deflection of a developer T, and a detector 7 for the residual quantity of the developer is attached to the side wall in the lower part of the vessel 1. A microswitch 8 which interlocks with opening and closing of a cover to switch and is incorporated in a residual quantity detecting circuit is provided fixedly in the outside of the upper side wall of the vessel 1. When the cover 3 is closed after charging the developer from a supply inlet 3a, the microswitch 8 is linked with a timer simultaneously, and a residual quantity detection signal is stopped to generate a full signal during the set time of the timer. Thus, even if the developer is deflected to the side different that of the detector 7, copy becomes possible simultaneously with closing of the cover 3. |
