PURPOSE:To perform development by storing a developer and a water repellent in the same tank in two layers, and dipping a photosensitive drum in the solutions while moving up and down the tank relatively to and from the drum. CONSTITUTION:Over a developor tank 1 which contains a developer 2 and a water repellent 3 separately in two layers because of a difference in specific gravity, a photosensitive drum 5 having a formed electrostatic latent image is arranged oppositely, and during development, the drum is dipped in those two layers in the liquid tank and rotated by a mechanism which is not shown in the figure. Therefore, the developer 2 sticks to a latent image part on the drum surface and when it passes the lower water repellent layer, the developer at a part other than the latent image part is washed off and the water repellent 3 is applied, so no developer sticks to the part other than the latent image part when the drum surface passes the developer 2 again, thus obtaining an excellent image. |
