PURPOSE:To remove restrictions on a backing material, by attaching a reinforcing member to the rear side of a melt-sprayed metal layer when this layer on the surface of a melt-sprayed model is detached from the model in respect to a pressure die obtained by detaching this layer from the model and backing this layer. CONSTITUTION:A frame 3 is attached to a basic model 2 having a surface 1 to be transferred, and an alloy having a low melting point is flowed into the frame 3 to obtain a melt-sprayed model 4. A hard metal such as Cr is melt-sprayed to this model 4 to form a layer 5, and the surface 1 is transferred. Next, the layer 5 is detached; however, the layer 5 is deformed by its own residual stress to generate a deviation as a press face. Therefore, a reinforcing member 6 consisting of a Pb-Sb alloy having a melting point higher than the material of the model 4 is provided along the back of the layer 5 on the model 4. A gap 7 is provided between the member 6 and the layer 5. A melt-sprayed layer 8 is provided again on the member 6, and the member 6 and the layer 5 are made into one body to reinforce the layer 5. After melting away the model 4, the layer 5 is put on a model 9 which has the same shape as the model 4 and consists of plaster or the like and is backed with a zinc alloy 13. Thus, the member 6 is softened or melted partially to fill up the gap 7. After that, the layer 5 is backed with a sand core 14 to obtain a pressure die. |
