The self-locking closure (10) for dispensing packages, e.g. tubes (12), having at least one deformable wall, has a membrane (18) whose intermediate section (26) moves, when the closure (10) is actuated, from its concave into its convex position. The closure has a disc (16) with a support (20) and an outwardly directed closure body (22). The membrane (18) thereof has a relatively thick flange (24) for connection to the support (20) of the disc (16). The relatively thin, elastic intermediate section (26) of the membrane (18) is integral with the flange (24). A tubular neck (28) surrounding the closure body (22) with clearance ends in an open lip (34) which brings about a sliding fit with the outer surface of the closure body (22) and, together with the latter, forms a valve. In this arrangement, the intermediate section (26) has a concave shape in the unloaded state when the flange (24) and the lip (34) press against the closure body (22) and the valve is closed, but a convex shape when the valve is opened by pressure on the deformable wall. This closure is very simple, inexpensive and reliably functional. <IMAGE>
