UP-SET SHRINKER FOR PRODUCING THICK WALL STEEL PIPE

In the production of steel pipe from thick steel plate, an up-set shrinker is employed for reducing and processing an O-shaped pipe-blank in equipment for producing thick wall steel pipe; the up-set shrinker includes a plurality of reducing shrinker dies which correspond with parts of the O-shaped pipe-blank other than butting parts of the adjacent edges, and a processing shrinker which corresponds with the butting parts of the adjacent edges, the processing shrinker die being formed with a deforming element, for example a projecting foreign member over the length of the die; the processing shrinker die and the reducing shrinker dies are independently operable.
