PURPOSE:To permit automatic and perfect both side recording in spite of the case of the case in which the number of originals is odd by providing means of stopping image forming operation arbitrarily. CONSTITUTION:Means of stopping the image forming operation on at least either side of the 1st side or the 2nd side of a recording sheet arbitrarily during the conveyance of the recording sheet in a both side recording mode are provided. More specifically, during the recording on the 1st side, the image of the final original from an automatic original supplying device 1 is formed on the 1st side of the recording sheet, and the sheets past a fixing device 30 are contained in a junction tray 26 by as much as a preset number of sheets. However, during the recording on the 2nd side, the image forming process and the processes such as fixing are stopped, and only the sheet conveying means is operated to discharge the sheets from the tray 26 through conveying lines 49-29. Since the leaving of the final sheet in the tray 26 or in the conveying lines is obviated in this way, an odd number of sheets of originals are recorded on both sides automatically and perfectly. |
