PURPOSE:To carry out control of an air fuel ratio such as lean burning, etc. under simple closed loop control, by increasing the draft resistance of the one porous gas diffusion layer of a platinum electrode more than that of the other porous gas diffusion layer. CONSTITUTION:The draft resistance of a porous gas diffusion layer 13 is made lower than that of a porous gas diffusion layer 14 between said layers 13, 14 formed on respective platinum electrodes 12, 11. That is, the pore diameter of the layer 13 is made large and the pore length is made short so as to make the draft resistance high. By such construction, output voltage varying at a prescribed inclination in a rich or lean domain and being constant at another domain, can be taken out and stepwise fluctuation of the output voltage is eliminated in a logical air fuel ratio and then, control of the air fuel ratio such as lean burning, etc. is realized under simple closed loop control. |
