Fuel supply control system for LPG engine - uses manifold pressures to control flow and evaporation rates through two expansion chambers

Two expansion regulators ensure that the correct supply of evaporated gas reaches the engine inlet manifold. Gas flows from the tank (7) via an electrically-operated cut-out (8) to the first regulator (1), where the flow and thus the expansion is controlled by a membrane operated valve; the setting of the valve being dependent on the pressure difference between the air inlet and manifold sections of the carburettor (26). The gas flows to the second regulator (14) via a mechanically-operated valve (17) which maintains a constant pressure in the regulator unless the pressure difference in the carburettor is so great that a switch (37) operates causing a solenoid (32,31) to force the valve (17) open.
