PURPOSE:To make a cathode-ray tube smaller by decreasing the space occupied by a deflection means by carrying out both horizontal and vertical deflections by means of the same second deflection system. CONSTITUTION:An electromagnetic deflection york 20 consists of a pair of half deflection yorks 20A and 20B, which are formed so that a tubular thin body 1 is divided into halves along the thickness of the body 1 by means of the yorks 20A and 20B. Since the yorks 20A and 20B are attached to the outer wall of the tubular body 1 in such a manner that the contact surfaces of the yorks 20A and 20B are slid into positions, the york 20 is attached to the outer wall of the tubular body 1 in close contact with the outer wall. By the means mentioned above, the york 20 is always installed in close contact with the outer wall of the tubular body 1 irrespective of any variation of the thickness (l1) of the thin body 1. Consequently, reduction of deflection power is realized, and the yield of the york 20 is increased. |
