The vehicle body shell incorporates gutters (5) formed by turning up the edges of the roof panel (1) and hidden by the door panels or window panels. The edge of the gutter carries a seal which bears against a door panel when closed or in the region of a fixed side window is covered by a finishing strip (12). The lower edge of the strip bears against a longitudinal outer part (11) extending from a component panel (3) of the body shell. The strip extends down and is clipped to the C-post of the body shell covering ventilation outlets.
