A known apparatus for analysing the carbon monoxide content in combustion gases, based on the supply of a gas and air mixture in a known ratio to a combustion chamber in which combustion is catalyzed by means of a platinum wire, the resistance of which is measured as an expression of the heat generation and thus the CO content, is supplemented with an oxygen meter of the same type, to whose combustion chamber combustion gas is supplied. The output signal of the O2 measuring bridge (22) is corrected for the contribution caused by the CO content by passing a signal from the input of the CO meter (17) to a correcting element (25) inserted between the output of the O2 meter (20) and its indicator (23). Correction can also be made for the hydrogen and hydrocarbon content in the combustion gas to improved the accuracy of the O2 measurement. |
