PURPOSE:To realize the measurement of distance even for the same periodical repetitive pattern, by providing plural fixed base line distance optical systems having different base line lengths and using the signal relating to the relative position between the two images of the said optical systems. CONSTITUTION:A lens 6 is fixed to a lens 4 with a distance of a prescribed base line length LB different from a base line length LA. In case when a subject which is set at a position with a distance R away from the lens 4 and repeats the same black/white pattern in period T is aimed, the outputs Pai, Pa'i and Pa''i of sensor arrays 1, 2 and 3 each are tured into repetitive waveforms with period T'. Thus the measurement of distance is impossible. Then the output e1 relating to the array 2 is multiplied by LB/LA to obtain e'1. As a result, the coincidence is obtained between the outputs (e') and the output e2 relating to the array 3 in terms of the minimum position at the position corresponding to the distance R. Thus the measurement of distance is possible. In such way, the measurement of distance is possible enough even for a subject having the same periodical repetitive pattern. |
