摘要 <p>PURPOSE:To eletrolyze sea water by using a cation exchange membrane alone and to draw hydrogen by connecting salt concn. difference batteries using tinned iron plate water tanks as positive electrodes and generating electromotive forces. CONSTITUTION:A cation exchange membrane (b) is fixed to the bottom end of a PVC cylinder (a), and sea water or brine (c) is filled therein. A stainless steel wire net (d) as a negative electrode is dipped therein. This is suspended in a tinned iron plate water tank (e) of a positive electrode filled with river water (f), whereby a salt concn. difference battery is formed. Four pieces of such batteries are connected in series, and the terminals thereof are connected to an electrolyzing device filled therein with sea water to generate electromotive forces and to electrolyze the sea water. The hydorgen produced on one side of the terminals is collected.</p>
