PURPOSE:To previously prevent the occurrence of a poor printing due to malfunction and damage of a printing head, by warning an error in setting of a position regulating meachanism for adjusting the printing head corresponding to thickness of a paper set in a printer. CONSTITUTION:A lever 12 is a lever for detecting thickness of a paper 10, and a roller 15, attached to the one end of the lever, presses the paper 10 through the force of a spring 14. The lever 12 is displaced to the thickness of the paper 10, and the displacing distance is converted into an electric signal by a displacement-electricity converter 16 to send the signal to a level set circuit 17 having a staged slice level. In the circuit 17, the signal is converted into a 5-stage signal for indicating 1-5 sheets corresponding to the thickness of the paper to light ON a luminous element 18 where a positioning lever 7 is positioned in place. According to the lighting, an operator operates the lever 7 to set a printing head 1 in place. |
