Furan derivs.(I; R1,R2 = H, C1-8 alkyl; X = O, S; n = 1-4; Z = CH-NO2), useful as antialiergics, were prepd. by the hydrolysis of IV obtained from the reaction of II and III. Thus, 15.8 g bis-α-methylene-aminomethyl-thicomethyl-2-nitroethylene was dissolved in 200 ml methanol, and reacted with aq. soln. contg. 28.7 g 5-dimethylamine methyl-2-[(2-aminoethyl)-thiomethyl furan dihydrochloride to give 27.5 g N', N'-methylenebis-N-2-(5-dimethylaminomethyl-furfuryl)thioethyl-N'-methyl-2-nitro-1,1-ethylene diamine.
