PURPOSE:To achieve high-density recording by utilizing a magnetic recording body effectively by magnetizing the magnetic recording body in such a way that the magnetization direction of each recording track is different from that an adjacent recording track. CONSTITUTION:On a magnetic recording body 1, many recording tracks 2 which correspond to respective small magnetic head parts 5 of a magnetic head block 4 are formed at right angles to the running direction A of the magnetic recording body 1. Analog information to be recorded is sampled, quantized, and converted into a binary sequence of codes, which is recorded on one recording track 2 through a corresponding magnetic head part 5. In this case, the small magnetic head part 5 are provided in a zigzag shape, so magnetization directions B or respective recording tracks 2 are different from those of adjacent recording tracks 2. The slanting angle theta of the direction B of the recording body 1 to the direction A is preferably about 12-15 degrees. |
