PURPOSE:To achieve an energy saving run of an induction motor for use on a variable voltage/variable frequency (VVVF) power source by a method wherein the frequency and voltage are set in proportion to a motor speed and a voltage compensation is made to minimize power consumption. CONSTITUTION:A motor 6 is set at a prescribed speed by a speed setter 26 with the primary voltage regulated by a rectifier 1 and the phase controlled by an inverter 3. The completion of deceleration or acceleration resulting in a constant speed run is detected by a completed acceleration detecting circuit 17 and a sampling directing circuit 13 applies a primary voltage step down signal to the voltage regulating circuit 24 of the rectifier 1. A minimum power consumption is detected by a comparator 16 and a steady operation is started under the detected condition. |
