PURPOSE:To obtain a rapidly and easily extractable crude drug, easily, by the hot-pressing and compression deformation treatment of a raw crude drug without immersing in water, after or without cutting or crushing to a proper size. CONSTITUTION:A raw crude drug is prepared by drying the raw material of a crude drug (e.g. the root and rhizome of Panax ginseng, Paeonia lactiflora, Pinellia ternata, Pueraria lobata, Glycyrrhiza echinata, etc., bark and wood of Cinnamomum cassia, Phellodendron amurense, Paeonia moutan, etc., sclerotium of Grifola umbellata, Poria cocos, etc.) as it is or after dipping in hot water for a short time, and if necessary, removing the unnecessary parts. The raw crude drug is, without immersing in water, pressed at 200-0 deg.C under a pressure of 300-3,000kg/cm<2> without or after cutting or crushing to a proper size. The raw crude drugs are welded together to form a compression molded product. The drying of the raw crude drug should not be excessive, i.e. the dried product preferably contains at least about 5% water. |
