PURPOSE:To obtain an optical branching and coupling circuit which is easy to adjust and has a small loss, by constituting this circuit with quadrilateral prisms, where a reflective film is provided in the half of fayed faces, and a reflective mirror. CONSTITUTION:Optical fibers 2 and 3 facing to each other are put on the same optical axis, and collimating refractive index distributing lenses 5 and 6 are attached to tips of the optical fibers 2 and 3, and a cube prism 9 is so arranged that a reflective film 9a is inclined at 45 deg. to the optical axis. A refractive index distributing lens 8 having a reflective film 8a in one end faces to an optical fiber 1 through the cube prism 9 and has the optical axis placed on the same line of the optical axis of the optical fiber 1. They are so arranged that the optical axis of optical fibers 2 and 3 and the optical axis of the optical fiber and the refractive index distributing lens 8 are on the same plane and the reflective film 9a of the cube prism 9 is vertical to this plane. |
