PURPOSE:To obtain the efficient force of rotation by rotating two rotors alternately in the same direction via transmission gears and intermitting the rotation of one shaft until another shaft is rotated at 180 deg.. CONSTITUTION:A rotor 2 transmits rotation to an inner shaft 6, while a rotor 3 transmits to an outer shaft 7. While the shaft 6 is rotated at 180 deg. by the combustion in a cylinder 1, the shaft 7 is temporarily stopped in its rotation by a cam unit cnstructed of cams 11, 12, 13, and 14. When the rotor 3 is rotated next, this process is reversed, and the reverse rotation is checked by cams 8 and 9. For changing these intermittent rotations alternate at every 180 deg. into continuous rotations, the rotation of a gear 15 on the shaft 6 is transmitted to a gear 17 for rotating a gear 19, while the rotation of a gear 16 on the shaft 7 is transmitted to a gear 18 for rotating a gear 20. By alternate rotations of these gears 19 and 20, gears 21 and 22 are rotated, and a shaft 25 is rotated continuously. |
