PURPOSE:To attain a non-destructive inspection by judging the influence of the rolling of a head and the waviness of a medium by means of the flucture in the output when the hard disk medium is rotated through a drive spindle. CONSTITUTION:The medium 2 is set on the spindle 1, and clamped with a pressing ball 3. By rotating the spindle 1 at a designated speed of rotation, compressed air is made flow in and hit the head 4, and the air lift a suspension 5 to float the head 4. After the floating of the head 4, the head 4 is moved to the innermost position of a measurement guarantee area in the inner diameter side, then a recording/reproducing is achieved with a write current, and the output of the head 4 in the same position is read. The read output is drawn in a graph, and this process is repeated at respective positions of the head 4 by moving it from each track to another, and thus the graph is completed. A straight line 1 is so drawn that the number of points in the area above the line 1 and the number of those below are the same, and lines 3, 4 of the allowance values A, B for the waviness of the heard disk medium 2 are drawn in parallel with the said broken line 1. If the respective points come inside these lines 3, 4, the test result is judged to be acceptable. |
