PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide methods for preparing monoclonal antibodies that cross-react with and neutralize strains of Influenza virus of the same or different subtypes.SOLUTION: The method comprises the steps of: administering to a non-human subject two or more immunogenic compositions of Influenza type A virus hemagglutinin (HA) with certain time intervals; generating a B cell hybridoma derived from the subject; selecting hybridoma clones that produce a monoclonal antibody that binds to and neutralizes two or more strains of Influenza A virus HA subtype; wherein the immunogenic compositions comprise inactive Influenza virus, attenuated Influenza virus, live Influenza virus other than the attenuated Influenza virus, or an antigen or a nucleic acid encoding the antigen derived or obtained from Influenza viruses, where one composition differs from other compositions in that the Influenza virus is antigenically different.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
