PURPOSE:To extremely speed up a recording process, by irradiating an optical beam having image information to a photosensitive body and giving changes of polarity opposite to that of toner. CONSTITUTION:An electrode member 4a is installed so that the surface of a photosensitive body layer 41 is in contact with the tonerlayer of a toner roller 1 and high voltage of positive polarity is applied to a voltage applying layer 42. With this state, a laser beam is scanned toward the broadwise direction of the roller 1 at the surface of a voltage applying layer 42 of an electrode member 4a by a beam scanning means 5. Since the part irradiated with the laser beam in the layer 41 is conductive, the toner for this part is charged positive, and the toner of the part not irradiated remains negative and a charge pattern corresponding to picture information is formed on the toner layer. Thus, since the selection and provision of charges to the toner layer is made through the scanning of the laser beam, the recording process can extremely be quickened. |
