The invention relates to a clamping device for flexible data media in disc form, the clamping element of which comprises spring arms which are arranged rotationally symmetrically about a pin and have centring faces and bearing faces for the frictional carrying along of the data medium. What is essential about the invention is that the spring arms are provided in alternating sequence on the one hand just with centring faces and on the other hand with faces without any centring function and with bearing faces for the frictional carrying along of the data medium, the radius of rotation of the centring faces being greater than that of the faces without any centring function. As a result, the ending of the centring of the data medium takes place by means of spreading open the spring arms already before the beginning of contact being made by the bearing faces with the data medium for the frictional carrying along of the latter.
