PURPOSE:To sort paper sheets and process the sorted paper sheets at the same position automatically by providing a processing unit capable of moving over each tray in a main body of a sorter for sorting and storing paper sheets copied by a copier. CONSTITUTION:A feed screw rod 10 is rotated forward and backward by a motor 9 in such a manner that a processing unit 8 is moved up and down to be opposed to an assigned tray 7. Next, a solenoid 40 of the processing unit 8 is excited to move a Hotchkiss 37 upward, thereby to bind the sorted and stored paper sheets. A solenoid 46 is excited to move a punching shaft 49 of the processing unit 8 downward, and the shaft 49 is driven by the motor to punch the sorted and stored paper sheets on the tray 7. |
