<p>PURPOSE:To provide printing ink which hardly causes scumming and has excellent curing characteristics and adhesiveness to matters to be printed, containing a curable diluent consisting of tricyclodecane-dimethylol (meth)acrylate and a curable resin. CONSTITUTION:A tricyclodecanedimethylol of the formula (wherein R1 is a 1- 3C org. residue; n is 0-8) or a derivative thereof and (meth)acrylic acid are subjected to an ester exchange reaction. The resulting product is used as a curable diluent. This product, a curable resin having at least one radical-polymerizable double bond, a pigment, etc. are blended together to produce the desired curable printing ink. The compd. of the formula and the derivatives thereof can be produced by the formylation of dicyclopentadiene or a derivative such as methyldicyclopentadiene with carbon monoxide and hydrogen followed by hydrogenation of the resulting product.</p> |
