The invention relates to clearly indicating in motor vehicles either deceleration or acceleration without the conventional form of light symbol used, during the braking and deceleration process, being activated and without an acceleration symbol at the rear of motor vehicles by using such additional lights (red) at the rear of motor vehicles - or integrated for future series production like the conventional form - or additionally integrated next to the brake light as a whole by new integrated rear lights arranged in an elevated position. The invention is certainly not the additional brake lights used at present. My new invention primarily indicates whether a vehicle is accelerating or whether the driver of the vehicle has placed his acceleration pedal in the "neutral position" in order to brake or indicates whether the driver is accelerating again and is depressing the accelerator pedal. This light is coupled to the accelerator pedal by means of an inverted brake light switch and lights up in the "neutral position" of the accelerator pedal in a fashion which can be perceived at the rear. When the accelerator pedal is actuated, the said light goes out again and prevents all rear-end accidents, injury to persons and damage to property and thus serves as an overall means of ensuring traffic safety. <IMAGE>
