<p>A pulp treatment installation has a tall bleaching unit e.g. thirty metres high, a dehydration unit (I), a drier (II), and a final unit (III) for treatment and packing. In the dehydration unit and the final unit, a common overhead crane with a winch is used for the installation and service of machines and for handling equipment and products, in both units. Plant floor levels are adjusted in height so that the polp product leaves the dehydration unit (I) and passes to the drier (II) at a nearly horizontal level, or only slightly suspended over a very short distance, and also on leaving the drier, the pulp passes over to the final unit (III) over the shortest distance. The dehydration unit (I) and the final unit (II) are constructed in the form of a compact unit and the drier (II) is a separate autonomous unit, not enclosed in any section of the structure. A separate unit reduces noise levels. The risk of rupture or breakage of the pulp during its transport is minimised, and special conveyors between units are not needed. The air conditioning of the drier unit is completely separate from the ventilation of units (I) and (II).</p> |
