The stopper has a thermo-setting lid at the top of a neck or spout of a receptacle. The lid has an releasable cover of plastics which incorporates a cylindrical skirt and a base which is virtually flat. As delivered to the user, the lid (2) is housed in the plastics cover (1). The cover has, on the inner face of its skirt (3), near its base, a number of strips (6) around its internal face. A conical part (5) joins the skirt to the base (4). The lid has a flat base (10) and a conical skirt (11) with two lugs (12). The lid pref. includes a sheet of polyester.
