PURPOSE:To measure a degree of inclination exactly with high sensitivity by a small-sized and light device, by projecting a light beam emitted from an emitting fiber to the surface of a liquid, and photodetecting a reflected ray from said liquid surface by a photodetecting fiber. CONSTITUTION:A supporting base 4 is provided under a vessel 3, and a fixed part 6 on which a light emitting and photodetecting part 5 has been placed is provided on its upper part. A liquid 2 such as mercury is put into the inside of this vessel 3. When the supporting base 4 is placed on a horizontal object, a light beam emitted from a light emitting fiber of the light emitting and photodetecting part 5 is reflected by the surface of the liquid 2, and is photodetected by a photodetecting fiber. On the other hand, when the supporting base 4 is placed on an inclined object, the quantity of light photodetected by the photodetecting fiber 2 is varied, and an angle of inclination of the object is measured from a variation of this photodetecting quantity. |
