A device for orientating parts which each comprise an axial elongated body which extends on opposite sides of a flange at different distances is proposed. Different parts can have their centre of gravity on different sides of the flange. The device comprises a slotted guideway, along which parts are conveyed by vibration, the slot being too narrow to let the flange through. One part is carried on the guideway by its flange about which it can turn whilst it is situated on a first section (28) of the guideway. A second section (29) of the guideway can be entered only by such a part which is aligned at right angles to the guideway and projects with its longer section into the slot. The orientation device comprises two air nozzles (38 and 39), in each case one of the air nozzles being arranged in each case above one section of the guideway, and the two air nozzles being arranged along the guideway at a distance slightly greater than the length of an individual part. A part located on the guideway with its flange at the end of the first section (28) close to the second section (29) can be under the action of one of the air nozzles only with its longer section, so that the longer section is forced into the slot and the part into an orientation in which it can enter the second section (29) of the guideway. <IMAGE>
