The invention relates to a method for noise pulse elimination in telephone PABX systems in which, in the case of incoming direct-dial exchange traffic, a long-distance signal is transmitted to the PABX system via a long-distance transmission circuit along with the dial pulses at the start of the first dial pulse string. The intended object of the invention is to prevent the noise pulse which occurs when the long-distance signal is de-activated from corrupting the evaluation of the dial pulse strings. To achieve this, a temporally pre-defined monitoring period elapses after the long-distance signal has been identified and, if the pulse counter reading is 0 at the end of the monitoring period, the pulse counter reading is incremented by 1. <IMAGE>
