In order in the case of an electric mast-head luminaire consisting of a shell-type support part for the electrical equipment including lamp-holder and lamp, as well as of a glass ball which supplements the support part to form a complete spherical shape, to provide a virtually invisible fastening which can be operated by means of a tool, it is provided that the glass ball (2) bears a collar (2<a>) extending parallel to the plane of separation of the glass ball (2) and support part (1) and, adjacent to said collar, a further collar (2<b>) extending approximately at right angles to the support part (1), and that a retaining part (3<a>) which aligns the glass ball (2) concentrically with the support part (1) is held in the support part (1) and a further retaining part (5), which can be adjusted parallel to the plane of separation and radially inwards relative to the collar (2<b>) is arranged inside the support part (1) and can be operated by an actuator (6, 7) which penetrates the support part (1), the two retaining parts (3<a>, 5) bearing from outside against the collar (2<b>) of the glass ball (2) in the assembled position. <IMAGE>
