A manuscript holder, in particular for VDU workplaces, has a support part (2) at the bottom and a bearing plate (3) having a bearing surface (1) for manuscripts, documents or the like. The support part (2) is designed as a bow and has three support planes (6, 7, 8) on support cheeks (5) for the selective support on the bottom support surface (4) in such a way that the bearing surface (1) is arranged at predetermined different angular positions, the bearing plate (3) being turned over in one of these angular positions so that its bottom support rail (10) for the documents or the like is located at the bottom. The three predetermined angular positions of the bearing surface (1), for example of 15 DEG , 45 DEG and 60 DEG relative to the support surface (4), are ergonomically favourable positions for different work processes, the end position not requiring any movable parts of the manuscript holder and thus avoiding the risk of accidents with a minimum outlay in terms of construction. In one of the positions of the bearing surface (1) in which the middle one of the support planes (6, 7, 8) is used, the bottom edge (11) also moves to a distance from the support plane (4) such that documents, originals or the like can be inserted between the support cheeks (5) below the bearing plate (3). <IMAGE>
