PURPOSE:To provide a cutter which is capable of easily and automatically separating the printed side of a printing paper from the part yet to be printed after the end of the printing by charging a paper cutting member provided on a carriage at a specified position to cut from one side. CONSTITUTION:A solenoid 6 as means of charging is fixed on the side of a platen 2 on the carriage 3 and a cutting edge 7 is provided on an armature thereof. When the carriage 3 positions at the home position and at the right end of the moving range thereof respectively, the cutting edge 7 is positioned on the outward side not facing a printing paper 5. The movement of the carriage 3 is detected to a position where the cutting edge 7 won't face the printing paper 5, the solenoid 6 is excited to move the cutting edge 7 to the side of a printing surface 2a. Under such a condition, with the movement of the carriage 3, the printing paper 5 is cut at the top of the platen 2. |
