PURPOSE:To prevent back flow of intake air as a throttle valve is closed suddenly for the purpose of prevention against reduction in engine output by providing, in a suction passage, a control valve such as a reed valve or the like series with a supercharger for impediment to back flow of intake air. CONSTITUTION:A turbosupercharger S consists of a turbine T which is driven by exhaust gas discharged from an internal combustion engine E into the exhaust passage 9 and a compressor C which is connected with the turbine through the driving shaft 15 serving to compress intake air from the suction passage 9 for supercharging it to a combustion chamber 4 of the engine E. In this setup, the inlet of the suction passage 9 is located in an air cleaner Ac where a cleaner element 29 is provided at its front end. A reed valve 24 is provided at the inlet of the suction passage 9, i.e. in the upper stream of the compressor C, or an open/shut valve operated in linkage with a throttle valve 20 can be used instead of the reed valve 24. This feature can prevent back flow of suction chamber air when the throttle valve 20 is suddenly closed. |
