The invention relates to a luminaire having a concave mirror reflector in the sealed interior of which there is arranged a luminous element having a transparent housing, preferably an incandescent lamp. In order that when the incandescent lamp is inserted or exchanged the interior of the concave mirror reflector should remain tightly closed, provision is made of transparent means with the aid of which the interior is isolated from a receiver chamber for the incandescent lamp and thus always remains sealed against the environment. It is also advantageous to use a sealing element to seal against the environment the receiving chamber for the luminous element together with its housing and the bulb of the incandescent lamp. In order that only incandescent lamps having prescribed lighting and electrical values can be inserted into the luminaire, it is advantageous to provide an adaptor having mating faces, the luminaire itself having assigned mating faces. <IMAGE>
