On an appliance for harvesting beet and beet leaves, consisting of at least one row of working tools arranged in series, in particular a leaf-harvesting device having a chopper, a beet-topping device consisting of feeler bars pivotable about a shaft and of a beet-topping knife fastened to these and arranged at their end, at least one cleaning device and a beet-lifting device having lifting coulters, the object to be achieved is to provide a very short design for the appliance for harvesting beet and beet leaves. The invention achieves this object in that the lifting device has drawn mountings lying flat, at the rear end of which are arranged the lifting coulters and the front end of which is pivotable about a shaft which is arranged transversely relative to the direction of travel and on which or by means of which the mountings are displaceable transversely relative to the direction of travel, and in that the feeler bars of the beet-topping device are likewise attached as a mounting of the beet-topping knives on this shaft between the mountings of the lifting coulters. This arrangement of the harvesting tools affords the advantage that the harvesting tools can be arranged in very close succession.
