PURPOSE:To generate electrification accompanied by atomospheric discharge to developing agents prior to the arrival to developing region and improve developing efficiency by applying AC developing bias to developing sleeves, grounding an ear height regulating plate and performing an insulating coating on the surface of the developing sleeves. CONSTITUTION:The AC developing bias is applied through developing sleeves 2 to a magnetic brush from current source 5 during development. Then, electrification accompanied by atomospheric discharge generates before the developing agnets arrive to developing region A, as the ear height regulating plate 4 is grounded. Further the electrical charge which gets electrification between the regulating plate 4 and developing sleeves 2 does not leak, as the circumstance of the sleeves 2 is insulating-coated. When DC bias is applied to the regulating plate 4 in spite of polar character, electrification accompanied by atomospheric discharge is accelerated and developing efficiency is further improved. The electrical charge which the agents keep after passing through the developing region A leaks through a toner supply tank 7 grounded. By such arrangement, it is possible to improve developing efficiency. |
