Electric motor with stator winding embedded in a casting compound resistant to moisture, vapours and radiation and with a plug device which is built onto the housing or onto the terminal box of the motor and comprises a lower plug part and an upper plug part as well as a seal frame in between, into which lower plug part connecting leads of the stator windings are led. Stator winding (15) and lower plug part (8), the latter fastened either to the terminal box (6) or directly to the housing of the motor (M), are embedded in a coherent casting compound (20) of a thermoplastic casting resin, and the upper plug part (9) for the power supply lead is likewise cast in a vapour-sealed and pressure-sealed manner. <IMAGE>
