A device for measuring the thickness of a metal deposition layer on a metal foil 29, the device having an electrolyte chamber 11 which, on the side facing the foil, has an opening for letting through electrolyte to the foil, a cathode in the electrolyte chamber, and a supply conduit 51 for the electrolyte, connected air-tight and liquid-tight to the electrolyte chamber. The electrolyte chamber is connected to an under-pressure flow- off line 49, which is located at a distance from the mouth of the supply line in the electrolyte chamber. An under-pressure generator 34 is connected to the flow-off line. The supply line is also under-pressure- proof and runs continuously into the fluid volume of a supply vessel 56 for the electrolyte, which has a connection 61 with the atmosphere. <IMAGE> |
