The present invention concerns an arrangement for the separation of drops from flowing gases. The arrangement consists of a number of flat, but wavy, plates 1 with waves 2 of predetermined amplitude A and wavelength L, whereby wave crests and wave troughs are arranged opposite each other to form flow ducts and runoff channels 3 at the contact points between the plates. The flow ducts have at least two curves 4 in the flow direction and in the plane of the plates. What in particular stands out in this invention is that the waves 2 have a trapezoidal cross-sectional profile. In preferred embodiments, special conditions apply with respect to the base width and amplitude of the wave crests and troughs, also to the radius of curvature of the runoff channels. <IMAGE> |
