PURPOSE:To facilitate easy positioning of the input of a picture having a contour, by calculating the centroid position of an input picture to discriminate whether the centroid is at a proper position and then clearly discriminating whether the input picture is at the best position within the viewfield to inform the result of discrimination to an operator. CONSTITUTION:A picture element data D0 of the 0 address is read, and D0X 0(X address) and D0X0(Y address) are calculated by X and Y multiplying circuits 4A and 4B at the fall of multiplying and adder circuit control signals SIG MULTI (b) respectively. At the same time, the outputs of the circuit 4A and 4B are added through X and Y adder circuits 5A and 5B at the fall of a signal SIG ADD (c). After the centroid coordinates of the input picture is obtd, it is decided at a threshold value discriminating circuit 8 whether the centroid is within a proper range of the input picture. Then the inside and the outside of the range, the X and Y coordinates themselves, etc. are displayed at a display device. |
