The ultra-lightweight sea glider sails with a single wing dipped and is stabilised by a pendulum (6,7). It comprises main wings (1) and a tail unit (8), including wing-tip keel boards (3,4) together with an ariel keel (9) at the tail and a pilots cock-pit (6). When sailing, one wing-tip keel-board (3) is immersed to the leeward whilst the opposite wing tip (4) lifts to the windward. The cockpit takes the form of a freely suspended harness, the wings may be of the bi-plane or the multi-plane type and the harness may be a rigid or semi-rigid seat or fairing. The wings may incorporate slots or jet-pipes. Wing warp may be used to control rolling, and steering may be effected by using the tail keel together with the submerged keel.
