<p>PURPOSE:To prevent a shear of printed dots by a unit wherein a substrate equipped with two common electrodes is disposed to cross and face another substrate equipped with a plurality of signal electrodes and liquid crystals are enclosed therebetween to constitute a cell, and those two common electrodes are disposed to have a given spacing. CONSTITUTION:In a liquid crystal light valve (liquid crystal shutter cell) used in a signal modulation light irradiating system for a printer wherein a light signal is irradiated on a light conductor and this is developped with tonors so as to obtain picture informations, for instance, a substrate equipped with two common electrodes 501, 502 is disposed to cross and face a substrate equipped with a plurality (4 lines in the illustration) of signal electrodes 503 and then liquid crystal compositions are enclosed therebetween so that the cell is formed. Micro shutters 504, 505 formed on the same signal electrode 503 with the common electrodes 501, 502 facing each other are disposed in the moving direction of the light conductor to have a spacing l therebetween, which meets the given formula (where T1 = writing period, V = moving speed of the light conductor, and m = integer).</p> |
